Its initial value is the value of the environment variable TMPDIR concatenated with "/pid" if TMPDIR is set and to "/tmp/pid" otherwise, where pid is the id of the current process. On Windows, the temporary directory's name is not fixed, and must be obtained by the GetTempPath() API function.
